Today’s Tip:
Use Photo Overlays To Go From Dull TO Dazzling
Insight from Fixthephoto
Want to add a unique texture that will take your Photoshop projects to the next level?
You should try experimenting with a photo overlay.
Look at how simple it is to use overlays:
Open your base image in Photoshop.
Import an overlay by going to File > Place Embedded. Resize and position the overlay as needed, then press Enter.
Change the overlay's blending mode to blend it with your image. Try modes like Overlay, Soft Light, or Multiply, located in the Layers panel.
Adjust the overlay's opacity from the Layers panel if it appears too strong.
To apply the overlay to specific areas, add a mask to the overlay layer by clicking the Add layer mask icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. Use the Brush tool (B) with black to hide and white to reveal parts of the overlay.
Adjust your image's overall appearance by going to Image > Adjustments and selecting options like Brightness/Contrast or Color Balance.
Save your edited image by selecting File > Save As, choosing your format, and clicking Save.
With these steps, it only takes a couple of minutes to insert an overlay that enhances your photo.
